.
Q: What is an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC)?
A: The Energy Performance Certificate is broadly similar to the certificates found on many domestic appliances.

A Certificate for a building gives the building an asset rating based on its energy efficiency, but doesn't take into account how the home is used by
the occupiers.

The Certificate will give the building a rating from A to G. An A rating shows it's very efficient, meaning lower fuel bills, while G is inefficient,
meaning higher fuel bills. The Certificate will also show the building's environmental impact by indicating its carbon-dioxide emissions.

There will also be recommendations for cost-effective actions to improve the building's rating. The potential rating is based on all the
recommendations being implemented. Source: www.homeinformationpacks.gov.uk

HOW OUR EPCs WORK

Q: The Process - How does it work?
A:
  1. We take your order and payment (Industry professional will be invoiced)
  2. We contact owner/tenant to arrange a mutually convenient time for the EPC site visit within 36 hours
  3. The inspector visits the site and the report will be completed within 24 hours via our on-site technology.
  4. We provide you with copy of report which can be emailed, posted or downloaded.

Q: How long does an EPC assessment take?
A: Typically around 35 to 45 minutes for a 3-bed semi. Complex properties with one or more extensions will take longer.

Q: What is the assessment procedure?
A:
Dimensions of the property will be taken to ascertain the floor area and floor heights. Access to all rooms is required to log information on
radiators, glazing and lighting. The loft area is checked for insulation (typically done from the hatch) and details are taken of primary and
secondary heating systems along with any hot water tank installed. Photographs need to be taken during the assessment purely to support site
note statements and are not released with the EPC.

Q: Our Domestic Energy Assessors (DEAs) - Who are they?
A:
  1. All our DEAs have been accredited by either BRE, Elmhurst, Stroma or  ECMK
  2. They all have Public Liability Insurance (covers up to £2,000,000)
  3. They all have had a criminal record check
  4. All will be happy to show their Accreditation ID on request
